一年級作家研討會 - 非小說類寫作

Children love nonfiction writing! It is a wonderful way for them to teach each other what they know about a subject.  Students love to talk about what they know about things. They love being asked what they know about different topics like hobbies, dinosaurs, horses, and more.

In this class, students will learn about the structure of informational writing with modeling and reading mentor text. Each week we will choose a topic and try on our ideas. The students will think about what they know about the subject and plan it across pages. We will write our ideas on paper and add caring facts . The students will learn about why authors write nonfiction books. We will study nonfiction books and look closely at text features of a nonfiction book. Every week we will write a nonfiction book of our very own!

Students will enjoy this writing because they are passionate about what they know and want to share with their classmates. They are all experts and knowledgeable on so many subjects. We are going to have so much fun!
