世界歷史：第一次世界大戰/WW1（偉大的戰爭）學期課程

Welcome to your World History Course on the Great War (World War I)!

In this eight-week course, students will learn about the important events and people that shaped the Great War. We will explore the world events that led to the Great War and how it became an international crisis. This period represented a time of uncertainty and tensions but also a time of progress and advancements in the ways of war. We will examine how people around the world responded to these changes and how the need for power led to violent conflicts between countries from around the world. In these classes, students will view a slideshow presentation with pictures, key information, videos, and discussion questions to help guide our time together. My goal as a history teacher is to have your child remember the experiences and stories of those who lived during those times and to gain an empathetic understanding of the challenges of those living during this event. Using the historical thinking concepts (continuity and change, historical significance, cause and consequence, historical perspective, and ethical dimensions) students will critically examine the Great War.  It is important for students to understand the lasting impacts that history has on our present world.  

In addition to our weekly classes together, students will also be given a weekly task to complete to help solidify their understanding of particular historical topics. Please see the 'Homework' tab below for more information.
