History Herald: History for Young Historians - World History Time and Events Part 1 7-10 In this multi-day course, little historians will travel back in time to learn about the events and people that shaped world history. Each class will be a historical adventure tailored to the little minds of the students. We will work through fun, interactive presentations and activities that will inspire and engage the little future historians. The content given will be pure historical fact, however, it will be delivered in age appropriate ways. Class Schedule: Week One- Early Civilizations of Mesopotamia Week Two- Early Civilizations of Egypt Week Three - Early Civilizations Greece Week Four- Early Civilizations Rome Week Five - Early Meso-America Civilizations Week Six - Medieval Europe and Asia Week Seven- The Renaissance Week Eight- The Reformation Week Nine- Age of Exploration Week Ten- Age of Exploration: European Colonies Week Eleven- The Enlightenment Week Twelve: The Scientific Revolution Each week, students will receive an overview of the event and the historical people involved. They will be provided with a historical "snapshot" handout that they will use to record the important information while working through the various activities presented in class. Students will leave class with a solid understanding of the event and people as well as the effects that it/they had on future events of the world. This is a beginner class, so no prior information is needed. Students will be provided with the "snapshot" handout prior to each class, but they will need to bring writing and coloring utensils to class. So, come join us as we travel back to the past and learn about world history! ***********Part Two of both world and US history will be offered starting in January (spring semester) on the same date/time that Part One is offered in the fall. This will give you a full year of history between the two parts! ********* To check out part two: https://outschool.com/classes/history-herald-world-history-social-studies-little-historians-part-2-3rd-4th-ytbcCb0j?usid=2DREQFl0&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link

For the past decade, I have been encouraging students through education and personal development to explore the challenges of the past. Through my own personal education and professional development, I create a safe environment for students to learn about challenging topics of the past. My undergraduate is in history, focusing on United States and European integration, past cultures, and empire. My first master's degree is in education with a focus on English/Language Arts and History. My second master's degree is in history with a focus on world empires and United States/Europe during the premodern era and modern era. I am currently pursuing my PhD in history focusing on immigration and relations with indigenous peoples and cultures.
I have taught Ancient Civilizations in World History classes as well as classes on the history of Africa, Asia, and Australia, Ancient and Medieval Europe, and Early American history. I have taken and taught classes on world religions and practices starting with the ancient traditions of prehistoric cultures through modern day transitions of religions such as druidism. I have also taught about episodes of religious hysteria such as the Inquisition and the Salem Witch Trials. I also teach classes on the myths and legends that have defined these cultures. This extensive background will be utilized to create a well-rounded and thorough explanation of the topic.
