**This self-paced class, which means there are NO live meetings. All information will come from posts in the classroom** Do you know where the driest desert on Earth is? Can you name the longest river in the world? Which mountain range is the youngest and still growing? What kinds of animals live on each continent? In this 6-week self-paced class, students will learn about some of the major geographical features of Earth. I will post videos in the classroom, which students can watch on their own time. Throughout each of the first 5 videos, a different topic/feature will be discussed. In the 6th post, students will review everything they learned throughout the previous 5 videos to see how much they remember. By the end of this class, students will be able to locate all of the oceans and continents on Earth and tell a little bit about each one. Students will also be able to name the major mountain range, river and desert on each continent, and be able to describe them, including some of the animals that live in each of these various habitats. Teacher will respond to students within 24-48 business hours, during the first 6 weeks.

Hello! My name is Christine and I am a Colorado native. I have two awesome sons, who are 11 and 21. I love to travel, explore, learn and teach about nature! I have been to all 50 US states, about 22 countries and I can't wait to finally get to see the rest of the world!!
I have an Associate of Science, in geology, and a Bachelors in geography and environmental studies from the University of Colorado.
I have taught science, in a variety of settings, over the past 18 years. During that time, I also worked as a tour guide at a local commercial cave! Geology rocks isn't just a catchy pun, it's a passion! I teach a variety of geography and geology-related classes. My classes combine lots of interaction with hands-on learning. I find that most people retain more information through doing something than just reading about it.
