These are the powers that politicians use to win elections. The skills that public speakers and YouTubers use to inspire you. The word-tools that help you to change people’s minds. We will look at some of the language techniques that speakers and writers use to influence people - for example, repetition and ‘the power...

In the UK, I have led and presented speechmaking competitions in East London for primary and secondary schools, with children aged 7-13. Lots of the techniques and approaches in this one-time class are approaches I have used with children and teachers taking part in the project. I have also led training sessions on persuasive writing and speech-making for teachers and parents.
Paper or notepad, and something to write with.
