Artistic wizard campers will meet for three days to do drawing and painting projects to design their magical world. **What landmarks and landforms will be on the map in your magical landscape? We will create a map that reveals fun landmarks through pencils, markers, and watercolor resist. ** What flavor will your elixir (juicy potion) be so you can have the strength and energy you will need? Is it fizzy or creamy? What kind of powers will it give you? We will whip up a refreshing elixir to restore and recharge our energy! **Where will you shop for all things “wizard?” You will need a place to shop for your goods. What will the name of your store be? We will design some hand lettering for our storefront sign and name our store. I will show you examples of fun wizard-inspired hand lettering and you can create your own version! **All wizards need a special creature by their side to help and support them – what will your creature look like? What animal characteristics do you want yours to have? Artistic wizards will design a mythical animal of their choice by combining different animal parts and referring to examples that I will have. Each day there will be time for introductions, the art project with step-by-step guidance using my overhead art cam, and sharing ideas. Costumes are encouraged (but not required)! Wizards will need: Mixed media art paper (any paper that can handle paint!) Printer paper Pencil Eraser Colored pencils Markers (including thin and thick black markers like a Sharpie) Oil pastels Crayons Watercolors Acrylic or tempera paints optional (I will confirm if needed later) Cups/brushes/old towel Small posterboard Projects are subject to alterations and adjustments. Thank you for your understanding! *Information about the ingredients for elixirs will be provided upon enrollment Ages 8 to 12. If your learner is outside of this age range please reach out to me before enrollment as the pace of the class may be too fast and/or the activities too challenging.

I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in visual arts. I have taught K-12 graders for the last 13 years in a variety of subjects, including a monthly art program that focused on art elements and the art masters. I enjoy teaching simple concepts that allow my students to share their ideas freely and express themselves in new ways. I love teaching with themes and special topics. I hope these art projects will inspire budding wizards and wizarding fans to create thematic art and bring their imaginative ideas to life.
