課堂經歷
Brrr! It’s time to turn up the heat this winter! During this class, your child will get a full body workout winter style. We will be skiing the slopes, building a snowman, and having a snowball fight (just to name a few of the fun things we’ll be doing in our winter workout!) all while learning some real exercises for strength, agility, and balance. No prior experience needed. No supplies or equipment needed! Come dressed in comfortable clothes and sneakers if you'd like. Oh! Don’t forget to bring all your energy and a water bottle too! Pretending to do fun wintertime activities makes this upbeat fitness workout fun and entertaining! From snowboarding to shoveling snow, children will learn real exercises like squats, overhead presses, and more! I will first guide students through the warm-up and stretching while we talk about some of our favorite winter activities and traditions. Safety first! Next, I will model and perform a variety of exercises as we make our way down the mountain and back to the cabin. Finally, class will finish with a cup of hot chocolate and a cool down stretch. Learners will have the opportunity to help me count out our exercise repetitions and socialize during our short water breaks. You can expect your child to receive lots of encouragement and praise throughout our workout. They will leave feeling excited about fitness, and with a new workout routine they can practice at home all winter long! Active fun for the whole family!
學習目標
Students will learn REAL stretches and exercises disguised as winter favorites.
They will also be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association. According to the CDC, it is recommended that "children (3-5 years) should be physically active throughout the day for growth and development. Children and adolescents ages (6-17 years) should do 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day, including daily aerobic – and activities that strengthen bones (like running or jumping) – 3 days each week, and that build muscles (like climbing or doing push-ups) – 3 days each week."
According to the American Heart Association:
Active kids are more likely to have:
-a healthy weight
-stronger, healthier bones and muscles
-better heart and brain health
-improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving
-better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading and writing
-lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some kinds of cancer
-less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression
-less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior
-improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem
