Students will learn all about different types of owls, their habits, how they are useful, and common myths about them. Students will view a slideshow identifying many types of owls and interesting facts about them. They will also watch a short video with more helpful information about owls. Toward the end of the lesson, students will learn how to draw an owl. There will be ample discussion time on student opinions and common misconceptions of owls. Students will learn about owls and how they can be helpful in the environment. Students will be able to identify and explain several facts about owls. Students will learn about different kinds of owls and their body parts. Students will be able to identify and explain misconceptions or myths about owls. Students will be able to have a meaningful discussion with their peers.
I have taught about owls numerous times in my elementary education classroom. I am very knowledgeable on the subject of owls and have done extensive research. I am a nature and animal lover.
There will be pictures and videos of lots of different owls and their habits in the wild. They may be shown eating or capturing their prey. They may also be shown fighting with or killing other animals.
