Welcome to Weird Science! In this ongoing class, students will learn a new "weird" science topic each week! This class will be a fun way for your learner to become engaged in the world of science. We will do experiments, play science games, and build our science knowledge in a new way each week. Materials will be sent out weekly for class. I have been an elementary school teacher for 10 years. I have a Florida Teaching Certificate and am qualified to teach science topics for the PreK-6 age. I have studied the topics and how to make them age appropriate for learners. I also have a certification in International Baccalaureate (IB) program. It is a worldwide, nonprofit education program founded to give all students the opportunity to receive an education fit for a globalizing world. I have been trained to present material by asking questions and helping students learn from their questions. I also worked for a science company for 5 years completing science classes, birthday parties, and camps. I hope to foster an excitement for science in your learner!
A material list will be sent in the classroom each week.
Students may need assistance on some experiments and help prepping materials before class. Please be sure your learner has a safe space to complete class. Science can be messy sometimes and keeping electronics or other things safe is important! Students may need to use scissors during class.
