Each week, we will begin our meeting with a "window check" where each student checks the weather outside and reports back to the class. This will help encourage confidence when speaking in front of peers, as well as reinforce the concept of taking turns and listening. We will even do a yoga pose or movement activity that relates to the weather observed. Next, we will have a class discussion about the weather theme of the week (see schedule below). Students will learn the scientific concepts behind our weather and apply early STEAM skills such as critical thinking, making predictions, and discussing outcomes.
Supplies will vary per week, but include the following: construction paper, washable paint, ziplock bags, building blocks, shaving cream, food coloring, hair dryer, straw, paper towels, etc.
