***This class is resuming in the New Year on 1/4/24. For this ongoing French class, beginner students will meet weekly for an interactive and fun Youtube video, accompanying vocabulary and speaking practice. **No previous French study is necessary. Although, students who have taken French classes before are welcome because we will learn lots of varied vocabulary each week (we will not "cover the basics" like some other classes do by just learning colors, numbers, alphabet. Students will develop and improve their French vocabulary on a variety of topics. Students will use listening comprehension skills and work on strategies for understanding spoken and sung French. Students will be able to talk about themselves and their preferences. Students will be able to ask other classmates about their preferences.
I have taught a weekly "video vendredi" series in my 7th and 8th grade French classes for 10 years. I have incorporated listening practice and conversational speaking into my classroom with 12-14 year olds.
