Hello Outschool Learners! 

Thank you for checking out this course! This is a course for any singer ages 7-18, and has a flexible age range due to the one-on-one layout of the class. Teaching voice lessons is one of my favorite things to do. It is my goal to encourage my students to find their own unique voice through development of healthy technique, dedication and confidence. Helping my students to become confident and skilled is something I take very seriously.  

To tell you about myself, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and over 7 years of experience teaching voice lessons as well as over 17 years of professional performing experience. I love working with kids, and have taught all ages. I am also an ESL teacher and have plenty of experience interacting with children online. I love being able to share what I know with others. 

The benefit of private lessons is that the class will be catered towards the student’s needs! We will work on the style of music that the student enjoys. For example, I am experienced in teaching classical repertoire, pop, musical theater, and much more. 

Example Weekly Breakdown:

(NOTE: *The weekly breakdown will vary based on the student's needs and learning level. Private voice lessons are very personalized and progression is HIGHLY dependent on time spent practicing outside of lessons and the student's initial singing ability. PLEASE come in knowing the MELODY and the PRONUNCIATIONS within the song to the best of your ability (memorization of words not required). If this is not practiced beforehand, we will have to learn it during lesson time, and it can be very time consuming. This then takes time away that can be spent on technique training and building skills.  If you need tips on learning the melody/words, please let me know and I would be happy to give you tips. We can always continue the same song into the next week, but it is also wonderful to spend each lesson learning new material!*)

Week 1: We will start by introducing ourselves. We will do a warm-up so that I can better understand your voice. Then, we can discuss any questions or concerns you have about singing! We will learn some new singing techniques and further discuss what your expectations are for lessons. Please have a song that you enjoy prepared, we will have time to work on that as well! 
Week 2: We will do a warm-up, technique training, and introduce a new song if you are feeling ready. A new song will be discussed beforehand with the student so that they have time to prepare. 
Week 3: We will do a warm-up, introduce new singing techniques catered towards the student, and introduce a new song if the student is ready.
Week 4: We will do a warm-up, continue introducing new techniques , and introduce a new song if the student is ready. 
Week 5: We begin with a warm-up, technique building, and add new material if you wish! You also have the option to review all material that we have learned in our weeks together. :D

A note about requested times:
If you request a class time and it is approved, it must be booked within 3 days of the request, after which it will be released for public booking. There is a 7 day allowance for charter school requests, after which the slot will be released for public booking.

MAKEUP LESSONS
I am not able to schedule complimentary makeup lessons for short notice cancellations and missed sessions. All additional weekly lessons aside from our usual schedule must be approved by and billed to the parent. 
As an alternative to missed classes, I offer flex lessons, in which the student can submit a video recording the week of the missed session and receive a video response from me. While a flex lesson is not a requirement nor a typical offering from Outschool teachers, I offer it because I know continuity of instruction is important to my students and want them to receive the best singing education possible. Flex lesson instructions are sent upon request.

REFUNDS
Refunds will not be issued for a short notice cancellation or missed class.
Full refund until 48 hours in advance of the class, or within 24 hours of the initial purchase. These changes require a manual cancellation by the parent and will by default place the class on a pause for those weeks. I am able to mark the class as private for two weeks maximum so that no other bookings occur in your learner’s place.

RESCHEDULING
As long as I am notified one week in advance of our next class, I can adjust the schedule to a mutually agreed upon time or remove specific weeks from the class schedule. I am only able to remove two consecutive weeks at a time before that day/time is forfeited and bookable.
If there is a week that I will be away for our usual lesson time, you will be notified well in advance and there is no charge unless we mutually reschedule to a different time that week. If there is an emergency that requires me to miss class short notice, the cancellation will immediately process a refund that is reflected in several business days.

All pricing will be at a set rate for this listing, which is $50/45 minutes.
