Students will learn the basics of css in order to create format changes to text such as color and size; classes and ids to style individual pieces of a website;  iframes to add videos, tweets, and pieces of other websites directly to their own site; div and span html tags to group multiple items; and the box model for creating borders and spacing around items.

I have been teaching math, special education, and computer science for 14 years.  I hold teaching certifications in all three areas in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.  I teach web design as a unit in my physical classroom during one of the courses I teach in person.

Students will be given small assignments within the class which are usually finished during the class.  The most effective way for the majority of students to learn how to program is by practicing.  Most of class time is spent by students typing their own code, with the teacher checking work and troubleshooting errors with students.

There is no official assessment; however, students complete several tasks throughout the course.  The end of the course involves a website created by the student about themselves.  (Students may opt for a different topic if they choose.)
