Welcome to our Web Development & Graphic Design course for kids in grades 4-10! In this five-day program, students will learn the fundamentals of web design and create their very own website using WIX. Our subject matter expert will provide design and development instruction for beginner and intermediate participants. Individuals with prior experience can jump right in and start working on their projects.

The course is designed to be student-centered and focused on collaborative projects, allowing learners to work together and learn from each other while creating their websites. Whether your child is a beginner or has some experience in web design, our course is tailored to meet their needs. No prior experience is necessary since they will be guided step-by-step through the creative process, although some computer experience is helpful.

During this course, learners will discover how to create unique graphics based on their own designs and add new pages, edit content, test and publish their website. They will learn how to use the WIX IDE and embed graphics, videos, and links into WIX-based webpages. Students will also gain an understanding of HTML and how to edit basic code. Finally, they will learn how to build websites with columns and tables.

The course is structured around three-hour-long class meetings held once a day for five days, giving students plenty of time to learn and practice their newfound skills. Our teaching style is interactive and student-centered, allowing learners to participate actively in class. Our subject matter expert will use a variety of teaching techniques such as lecture, games, slides, video clips, and discussions to engage learners and ensure that they have a well-rounded learning experience.

We believe that it is essential to provide learners with the opportunity to interact with their peers and teacher. During class meetings, learners will have the chance to interact with their classmates and subject matter expert via live video calls. They can ask questions and receive real-time feedback on their projects, making the learning process more engaging and effective.

To join the course, learners do not need any prior experience, but some computer experience is helpful. Our expert instructors will guide learners step-by-step through the creative process to ensure that they have the necessary skills to build their website by the end of the course.

Day 1 : Introduction to WiX, Teach campers how it works, Brainstorm possible topics and a few subcategories for your site, Talk about Branding and how to make a logo using Canva, Pick one of your favorite topics and draw out your ideas for your website. Start finding content for your site.

Day 2 : Continue to build content for your site, Gather images and facts to make it stand out, Learn about adding pages in WiX.
 
Day 3: Learn how to research and embed video content to your page, Learn about WiX’s mobile friendly format, and how to adjust your site.

Day 4: Continue adding content to your site learning about different apps and widgets, learn about the more robust Editor suite, Explore the more robust WiX Editor and add apps and widgets to your site you might want.

Day 5: Get ready to share your websites with Friends, Talk about constructive feedback.
