The learning goals for this lightning course will be to introduce the student to concepts about how lightning is formed, types of lightning, and safety from strikes. There will be an attached note taking document with pictures to help the student learn and retain the information about the lightning concepts. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn the material and answer questions pertaining to lightning. There will be no assigned home work in this class and the teaching style will be lecture via power point material with a few questions asked of the students.

The student will learn about how lightning forms, the power of lightning, aviation and lightning, and safety tips near the water, in the mountains, and in the home.
