This class will delve into weather forecasting with a distinct focus on aviation meteorology. This will be an interactive course that will use real-world forecasting products such as surface charts, graphical model data, radar, and satellite products to forecast weather. The main resource will be provided for the students to use. The learning goals will be on specific areas of weather forecasting such as clouds, fog, rain, snow, thunderstorms, surface winds, jet streams, fronts, synoptic scale analysis, temperature forecasting, turbulence, icing, Radar, and Satellite.
I have over 20 years experience as an aviation meteorologist with the Air Force and as a civilian contractor working with the military providing aviation weather products and training to military personnel.
