This course focuses on creating characters using voice acting (voice-over) techniques for animation. Each class will include: 1. Vocal warm-ups. 2. Characterization techniques and exercises that are used in the creation of animation voice overs. 3. Students will demonstrate their understanding of those characterization techniques by imitating a variety of character voices from animation scripts. 4. Students will demonstrate their understanding of the techniques by creating their own character voices from an animation script. 5. Students will be asked to self-evaluate after each performance. 6. Teacher feedback during exercises and performances. Note: Students are expected to participate in all warm-ups, exercises, and performances. Please make sure that you do a visual check-in at the beginning of each class. Parents will receive feedback about their teen's overall performance after the last class.

I teach classes in Theatre and Voice Acting with an emphasis on fun and exploration!
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education at the University of Utah. I have over 25 years of teaching experience in both traditional and nontraditional school settings. And, I currently hold a teaching license in secondary education in Theatre.
I am a lifelong learner and continue to look for ways to improve my teaching. My goal is to foster a friendly and safe environment for students to explore acting.
When I'm not teaching I love to sing karaoke, kickbox, spend time with my family, and snuggle with my kitties, Ozzie and MoMo.評論
