Do you like Sonic the Hedgehog? Do you want to learn new words? Well this is the class for you! In this ongoing class students will learn new vocabulary words based on Sonic the Hedgehog themed images and characters. The students will learn the words, definitions, and also have an opportunity to form their own sentences. If the students learn the words correctly they will collect virtual chaos emeralds along the way until they reach Super Sonic. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn new words while also fun. I look forward to seeing you all in my classroom! Fridays at 5:00 PM EST Week of December 30: Introduction to Sonic Week of January 6: Sonic the Hedgehog Week of January 13: Tails the Fox Week of January 20: Knuckles the Echidna Week of January 27: Green Hill Zone Week of February 3: Omega the Robot Week of February 10: Shadow the Hedgehog Week of February 17: Rouge the Bat Week of February 24: Vector the Crocodile Week of March 3: Charmy the Bee Week of March 10: Espio the Chameleon Week of March 17: Metal Sonic Week of March 24: Amy Rose Week of March 31: Cream the Rabbit This is an idea of how the classes will be structured. Hello! My name is Luis Ruiz. I’ve had over 10 years teaching experience. I have worked in a 5th grade classroom for over 3 years and I’ve been teaching online for over 3 years. Additionally I’ve been tutoring children for over 10 years. I’ve taught students English, Reading, Spanish, and Life Skills. I strive to incorporate the students needs into my lessons and make the environment fun yet educational. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with ESOL endorsement.
When teaching children I enjoy incorporating things children's enjoy in order to make learning more enjoyable for them. I also strive to make each student feel welcome and happy in class.
I enjoy fitness as well and offer themed classes that allow students to exercise with their favorite cartoon characters. I have a variety of discussion classes as well in which students can talk about their favorite video games or cartoons while learning social skills in the process. I currently offer vocabulary, spelling, fitness, discussion, Spanish, and alphabet classes to a variety of learners. I make sure to encourage my learners through positive reinforcement and a happy environment.
