電子遊戲音樂

Note:  This is a great one hour introductory course for students who love video games and/or music!  For a more skilled and in-depth course, take a look at my four part "Video Game Music Composition" course.

From Mario to Minecraft, we will dive into the history of video game music and analyze some of the greatest video game melodies!  Students will participate in creative listening activities, using only an audio clip to imagine what the on-screen action in the video game might look like.  I will empower students with basic music vocabulary to describe what they are hearing (fast/slow tempo, rising/falling pitch, instrumentation), as well as teach students the basics of video game design and how it transforms the music (8-bit processing chips, non-linear stories, adaptive audio).  No prior musical experience is required, but we can always build upon any knowledge you bring to the class!
