In this one time class we will talk briefly about Van Gogh as an artist, we will discuss his piece called Starry Night, and then students will create their own Starry Night masterpiece using crayon and watercolor. We will talk about color, composition, creativity, and also the proper use of materials and clean up. The students will be able to create their piece based on Starry Night, but in their own style and with their own personality and creativity. The class will be step by step allowing...
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set (yellow, blue, and green are the essential colors needed). - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Heavy white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc).

Parents are encouraged to be close by during the class to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints stay on the paper.
