The learning goals for this six-week course will be to teach the student about the high-altitude nuclear testing, Operation Castle Bravo, the Ohio class submarine, tactical nuclear weapons, the Titan II intercontinental nuclear missile, and the Minuteman III missile. There will be attached note taking documents with pictures to help the student learn and retain the information in this course. There are also short videos about the material to help learn about Cold War nuclear weapons. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn the material and answer questions. There will be no assigned homework in this class and the teaching style will be lecture via power point material with a few questions asked of the students. Week 1: High Altitude Nuclear Testing 16 Sep 2024 Week 2: Operation Castle Bravo Testing 23 Sep 2024 Week 3: Ohio Class Nuclear Submarines 30 Sep 2024 Week 4: Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Nuclear Missile 7 Oct 2024 Week 5: Minuteman III the Current U.S. Nuclear Land Based Missile 14 Oct 2024 Week 6: Tactical Nuclear Weapons 21 Oct 2024
