Session 1: Foundational Skills: Emotional identification and strategies
If students can identify the emotion they are feeling and with what intensity they are feeling it, they can make better choices about what to do next. This lesson builds on the concept that what students do affects themselves and others, enriching their understanding of the social world and its reciprocal influence on them. In addition, this understanding helps build motivation to use positive, active emotional regulation strategies
