*This is a Self-Paced course. There will be no live meetings for this class. The self-paced format of this course is great for students who have gone back to school or have scheduling conflicts because it can be completed when their schedule permits each week.** *************************************************************** 📚 What is Unplugged Coding? 📚 *************************************************************** If you are interested in learning to code but are unsure how to get started, then this boot camp is for you! Before young learners can begin to comprehend programming, they need to learn some basic skills. Unplugged Coding is using learning activities to introduce coding without the use of a device. You will need a computer to watch the recording, but activities will be based on using movement, toys, and paper/pencil to learn basic coding concepts. Coding is a key skill to help equip children for the future. Through coding, students will develop valuable skills in problem solving, creativity, perseverance and much more. As you engage in these screen-free activities, this course will help your mind begin to think like a programmer. *************************************************************** 📚 Included with Weekly Curriculum 📚 *************************************************************** 🔍 2 Pre-Recorded Videos (Each week you will receive two video lessons to watch and follow along with at your own pace.) 🔍Teacher Created PDF Handouts (Students will be provided with pdf copies of worksheets that will need to be printed and used during and/or after the videos. If a printer is not available, parents have the option to draw out the worksheets using paper/pencil.) 📣**Please note: The purpose of this class is to help get little minds thinking like a programmer before they begin to take block coding classes. We will not do block coding in this class. Parents are the best judge of their children’s abilities so please keep this in mind when enrolling. The age range is merely a suggestion. Some older students may still enjoy the class, and some younger students may find it beneficial as well. This class is meant for students who do not have any prior coding experience. There will be a small amount of reading and writing involved with this course. Parents are encouraged to assist students in reading and writing if they are not able to do this on their own yet. **

教師專業知識和證書
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education and 9 years of teaching experience. I spent three years teaching Kindergarten and six teaching 2nd grade. While I enjoyed teaching in a public school setting, I decided to become a stay at home mom to my three young boys. Now I spend my time learning along with them.
My main teaching focus is geared towards early education and lower elementary. I feel it is very beneficial to teach children to enjoy learning at a young age. This will hopefully continue with them as content becomes increasingly more difficult. In addition to teaching younger students, I also enjoy doing book studies. I have been an avid reader since I was a child and would love to bring this love of reading to others as well! My goal for teaching is make learning fun through using games, interactive activities, children's literature, and arts and crafts.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, reading and going on trips (especially to Disney World)!
I look forward to meeting you soon!
