This class is for beginners who have never played the trumpet, or have only been playing for a short period of time. 
1 - We will assess where you are on your trumpet journey, where you want to go, and how we are going to get you there. We will also get to make a sound on the instrument!
2 - Students will learn about the importance of air flow and posture. We will begin doing some simple exercises that will get you playing with a good tone quality. 
3 - You will be introduced to sheet music! We will go over some basic notes on the trumpet and how to read them. 
4 - We will continue reading sheet music and introduce rhythm. We will also continue doing exercises to keep your chops strong and healthy. 
5 - This week we will work on reading simple songs and bringing them to life with rhythm, articulation, and dynamics. Students will be assigned practice routines to develop their control over dynamics and articulation. 
6- Students will be introduced to some basic major scales. We will also continue to work on reading songs and muscle development. Students will be assigned a final song that integrates techniques from our previous lessons.
7 - We will go over student's assigned song and assess how much progress has been made and what can be worked on. 
8 - For our final class students will perform their assigned song! We will then discuss the best way for them to continue advancing their skills on the trumpet.
