Throughout the course, you will gain extensive knowledge about various types of ciphers and codes. Engage in hands-on activities as you solve intricate puzzles and craft your own secret messages...
Students will learn about the history of codes and ciphers. They will learn about how to solve and how to write a variety of codes and ciphers. They will learn critical thinking skills when they learn about the techniques for breaking an unknown cipher.
Please bring a pencil and paper to every class. Students will make their own code or cipher encoding/breaking devices during some classes. Parents will receive information about the materials needed for these projects the week prior. These projects will not require difficult to find materials. Many will just use paper and pencil and scissors. Some may use a paper towel roll or something similar.
