This class is for writers of all levels who want to practice their writing skills using fun, interesting prompts and share their thoughts and ideas with others. This class is designed to allow students an opportunity to practice their writing skills while communicating with and encouraging others. Students will practice brainstorming and organizing their ideas by responding to a visual prompts and discussing possible scenarios for pictures they are shown. Students will then respond to a...
Students will improve organization of their ideas and gain confidence in their writing. Students will gain confidence in sharing their ideas with others.
I am a state-certified 6-12 Social Studies teacher with 10 years experience teaching a variety Social Studies and ELA classes. I am CALP (Certified Academic Language Practitioner) certified and have many years experience teaching students of all learning styles and differences. I have used journaling prompts in both my Social Studies and ELA classes for many years and truly enjoy seeing and hearing the students' creative responses.
Students will need a spiral notebook, composition journal, or paper and a pen/pencil. They may also wish to have their favorite drawing supplies for journal illustrations.
