In this class we will learn about the brave, independent, and confident women who joined war time efforts to build the machinery that helped the United States win World War II. We will discuss the government's campaign that motivated women to go to work in war machinery factories, Rosie the Riveters, women pilots, women in the military, what happened after WWII and of course the legacy these women left behind as the men returned from war. Topics will be taught using discussion, power point, PBS video, and through a stylized PDF that tells the stories of many of these women. My teaching style is relaxed, conversational, and relies on critical thinking skills. Learners are invited and expected to bring their wisdom, questions, and curiosities to class!
