Are you able to have a conversation in Spanish? Do you want to practice your Spanish through a “show and tell” approach? Then, this class is for you! This class is an B1 level based on the CEFR. In this ongoing class, students will show off a favorite item and will practice their Spanish. They will have fun interacting socially with teacher Mary, her puppet friends, and other students. Note: This is a conversation class and it will be solely in Spanish. Students must be able to communicate in Spanish independently to participate. This class meets once a week, but the classes DO NOT build on each other, so if you miss a class, you can jump right back in! The topics will cycle back to the beginning when completed. Based on student's interests, every day, we will focus on a specific topic. I will ask you to bring an item related to the topic to share. First, we will discuss the topic and share our thoughts and ideas. Then we will share and talk. This class will be student-lead. Students are encouraged to chat with each other and ask each other questions. Class topics Week of Jan 7: Favorite toys Week of Jan 14: Family activities Week of Jan 21: Games Week of Jan 28: Books, stories, and movies Week of Feb 4: Our friends Week of Feb 11: Colors and shapes Week of Feb 18: Stuffed animals Week of Feb 25: Songs Week of Mar 3: Princesses and Super Heroes I am an energetic, friendly, and patient teacher. I am a native Spanish speaker and an ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) certified teacher. I can't wait to hear your child speak Spanish with their new friends and have fun!

¡Hola! My name is Profesora Mary, and I am excited to help your child learn Spanish.
I truly love working with children with my puppet friends: Pancho, Beto, Moño, and Lucía. Your child will love learning Spanish — at their pace — while playing games and singing songs with me and my friends. Your child will also have fun through my use of many props, including puffy animals, toys and more.
My ultimate goal when I teach is to make sure that my students obtain the skills to communicate in Spanish. I do this while making sure that my students have fun while learning. My class activities help students connect the learning material to their own world, facilitating language acquisition.
Teaching and learning languages are two of my passions. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to combine them and make them my profession. There is no other job that I could enjoy more, and I love to share my enthusiasm and energy with students in my classes.
I have worked very hard to be a qualified teacher, and I have achieved this through online and in-person teaching experience and by obtaining a number of certificates related to language instruction and teaching young learners. I am a certified ELE (Español como Lengua Extranjera - Spanish as a Foreign Language) Teacher and a native Spanish speaker.
I am a mom and some of my hobbies include learning languages, making crafts and playing the flute.
