Discover the literary genius of Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), an iconic Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet. Delve into his captivating short story 'The Selfish Giant' and engage in daily English Language Arts (ELA) activities designed to enhance your learner's language skills. Day 1: Read and annotate the story and develop prediction skills. Day 2: Master prefixes and suffixes, learn persuasive writing techniques, and craft a formal letter to the giant. Day 3: Enhance your understanding of adjectives, including inferences, the order of adjectives, and comparative and superlative forms. Day 4: Dive into the world of personification and metaphors. Day 5: Extract captivating noun phrases from the text and engage in descriptive writing activities. No prior knowledge is required to participate in this class, as all materials will be provided.

This workshop will cover :
- English Language Arts
-word reading, (etymology and morphology), both to read aloud and to understand the meaning of new words they meet.
-Use further prefixes and suffixes and understand how to add them –tion and –ness suffixes.
-Identify themes and conventions
-Drawing inferences
-Predicting what might happen
-Identifying main ideas drawn from more than one paragraph and summarising these
-Vocabulary, Grammar & Punctuation
-Writing (Composition)
