This multi-day class is a great introduction to earth sciences and covers several key geographical concepts in relation to plate tectonics and how earthquakes are formed. Each class is supported by on-screen resources, printables and the opportunity to complete hands-on activities. I have taught, as a qualified teacher, in mainstream schools for 20 plus years, and hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a degree in Environmental Science and History. I have extensive experience in delivering classroom-based lessons and online sessions in a range of subjects to students aged 5-16. I currently teach several UK based home educated students who are studying for their GCSE in a range of subjects.
Session 1: Modelling dough (red, yellow, orange, pink, brown, green and blue) - enough to make approximately 3-4” ball in layers. Session 2: Sheet (A4 size) of thin card. * Other sessions: Colored pencils/felt pens, ruler, scissors, eraser and pen * Access to a printer - for weekly handouts and supporting resources
For safety, parents are advised to support students when completing the hands on activities, particulary when the use of scissors is involved. This lesson uses private link, onscreen clickable resources (content created by the teacher) via the Genial.ly web app (https://genial.ly/). Learners and parents do not require a log in to access the resource. The Privacy policy for the web app can be viewed at https://genial.ly/privacy/ Links will be shared to Google Earth locations.
