課堂經歷
Students will have the opportunity to meet with friends and their peers in a stress-free zone where they will work on their own independent projects. During the class, students may choose to chat with one another and myself, sit in companionable silence, vent, discuss, whatever they want! The goal is to create a zone where students can relax and escape from everything going on.
The class will be a place based on respect, calmness, and relaxation.
Below is a list of project ideas!
Independent Project Ideas (includes but not limited to):
- "Adult Coloring Books" (See image)
- Work on creative writing
- Read alone
- Make jewelry
- Paint or Draw
- Make Kinetic Sand
- Knit, Sew, Crochet
- Or more!
This is a chance for students to come, de-stress, and relax in a safe environment! As the teacher, I will act as a moderator with discussions making sure that they are not only appropriate but that they feel respected and listened to. If difficult conversations arise during class, we will address the concerns in a timely manner. All students will be encouraged to be open but must follow the three rules: Be Respectful, Help Keep this a Calm Learning Environment, and Relax.學習目標

As the teacher, I will act as a moderator with discussions making sure that they are not only appropriate but that they feel respected and listened to. If difficult conversations arise during class, we will address the concerns in a timely manner. All students will be encouraged to be open but must follow the three rules: Be Respectful, Help Keep this a Calm Learning Environment, and Relax.
If concerns arise that need to be address, I will first discuss it with the student and approach you as well. This needs to be a comfortable work zone but at the same time, basic expectations and responsibilities apply to not only them, but to me as well. Clear communication is always key!

I have always wanted to provide a safe space for students in an online forum where they could interact and work at their leisure, especially during these difficult times in quarantine. When given the opportunity to teach this class, I immediately jumped on board! I have always had a goal of connecting with students and providing safety and reassurance to them. This class gives me the perfect opportunity to do so. During my times teaching as a substitute teacher, and during student teaching, I frequently worked with students needing positive role models and needing to connect. I facilitated many friendships during recess time as a student teacher, and would love to utilize those skills during this class. Though much of the time would be spent with sole student interactions, I will be right there if/when students have questions or need anything from me! :) I am VERY passionate about taking over this course!評論
