Are you looking for a fun, engaging, and informative activity this summer? I'm excited to offer this Music History and Composers Course. If you are interested in taking this as a private session, please feel free to message me to set that up.   

Students will explore the lives and music of influential Western composers from the Renaissance to the Modern Period. I will engage with learners through lectures and discussions that are supported by visually rich and interesting PowerPoint visuals, as well as video/audio clips of the composers' most popular works. Special attention will be given to helping learners listen for and identify the style of each composer. Notetaking worksheets will be provided so that students can follow along with the information and reinforce their memory of what they learned. 

Class will meet 2 times/week for 5 weeks. 
The composers will be introduced according the following schedule:

Week 1  - Palestrina (Renaissance Period)
                 J. S. Bach (Baroque Period)
Week 2 -  Mozart (Classical Period)
                 Beethoven (Classical Period)
Week 3 - Schumann (Romantic Period)
                 Brahms (Romantic Period) 
Week 4 - Tchaikovsky (Romantic Period)
                 Rachmaninoff (Late Romantic Period)
 Week 5 - Maurice Ravel (Impressionism)
                 John Williams (Modern Period)

No previous musical experience is necessary for learners to enjoy this class.
