This class aims to dissect the Hunger Games Trilogy. We will spend 20 minutes discussing each book. We will explore the characters motivations, lives and experiences, values and prospects. We will discuss the dystopian world were they live and political issues that are faced in the book. Relationships between characters will be reviewed as well as potential psychological issues hinted at and mentioned in the books. The last 10 minutes will allow for flexibility with time while discussing the books. The objectives of the lesson are to identify key parts of the story, analyze the content in depth and engage in a meaningful discussion of the content while discussing ethics. This is a highly discussion-driven class so students should have finished reading the books before attending class.
