This is a weekly ongoing class that covers the essentials to writing a good summary. Students will learn the process to writing a summary. 
Each week, there will be a short and engaging story read aloud by the teacher that students will summarize. The students will write their summary as the teacher will guide and monitor the students to ensure they are creating a summary that contains the necessary elements of summarizing.  After completing a summary, the teacher will then lead the class in a fun directed drawing that will accompany the summary they wrote.

Additional classes will continue to be added.

Students will have the opportunity to share their summary and drawing in a small group setting, and they will leave the class with a completed assignment they can be proud of.
