In this one-time class, we will take a dangerous tour of the world! We will learn about some of the most extreme places on the planet, exploring both geography and science in each location. We will take a look at dangerous locations and events all over the world - from Alpine avalanches to extreme heat in the desert! We will cover a quick scientific explanation of natural phenomena such as hurricanes look at the biology of fearful creatures like crocodiles. This class is taught through...
Learners will develop mapping skills in finding and marking each location on a map. Learners will gain an introduction to a wide variety of scientific phenomena such as forest fires, avalanches, volcanoes, and hurricanes. Learners will be able to identify several dangerous animal and plant species and be able to give an overview of general risks of each.
