馬庫斯‧祖薩克的《偷書賊》：讀書會與小說研究

The Book Thief is considered to be a brilliant book for students to explore the historical context of the rise of Nazi Germany and the experiences of World War Two. Told from the perspective of death, the book has engaged readers for many years.

Over the course of five weeks, the teacher will provide relevant background information in relation to the setting of the novel and lead a discussion of the book. The book is set in Germany before and during the Second World War and so these topics will be taught from a historical perspective. Through reading and answering discussion questions in the classroom, we will explore the plot, character development, themes, symbols, and other literary devices. 

Please note that the book is considered appropriate for learners 12 and up. The book contains descriptions of war, violence, death, and Anti-Semitism. Please be advised of these content warnings. I will be addressing such issues through an educational and trauma-informed approach.
