Each class will be taught how to read well and enjoy what they are reading. This will include during the course: Group reading in a comfortable setting. Comments, discussions and role play. Examples of reading skills. Positive feedback in class. Reading skills and strategies will be explored and demonstrated too. Here is a list of some of the skills learned: The three areas of a fluent reader will be discussed and examined and practised. 1 Speed - Word chunking, Timing, Improved...
1 Speed - Word chunking, Timing, Improved Vocabulary, Markers and practice. 2 Accuracy - Word recognition, Visualization, Sounds of words. 3 Prosody - Expressiveness, intonation, rhythm and emphasis.

Below is an example of books that may be selected during the reading journey https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk Have a look at the following books on the website for our class reading: Year 7 - The Selkie child (Book Band / - White) Year 8 - Return to Exis (Book band / 11 - lime) Year 9 - The Big Game Adventure (Oxford level) In class, we will be sharing the reading screen on Zoom together, so you don't need to load the book during class.
