In this class, students will construct and design skyscrapers out of paper. As a group, we will look at slide examples and discuss the architectural properties of a skyscraper. Following the slide review, the students will be guided through a step by step collage process to make their own unique skyscrapers. Students will learn basic architectural elements (and the corresponding geometric terms) that can be found on a skyscraper.
I am a practicing architectural designer in the world of residential design. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design and a Master's Degree in Architecture. I have been sharing my passion of architecture through architectural camps and classes for children since 1999.
Students shall provide the following: - 5 sheets of various colored construction paper - scissors (*The student should be comfortable with cutting as we will be cutting a lot of shapes throughout the lesson). - crayons, markers, or colored pencils (Parents can choose what medium would be best for their child) - Glue or Glue Stick
