Welcome to our Sumi-e painting club where we will focus on a variety of traditional sumi-e subject matter through the lens of different sumi-e painters. Each week we will focus on a particular subject ranging from natural sources like animals, landscapes or plants. This is a step-by-step class centered sumi-e painting class where students are meant to follow along with the teacher, particularly on the specific paint strokes needed for completing the sumi-e painting project. However, if students would like to add to their work they are encouraged to do so. We will also focus on various sumi-e painting techniques and proper sumi-e painting posture. The following topics we will be focusing on are listed below: –MAY– 5/19/24-5/25/24 How to Paint Orchids Using Sumi-e Painting Techniques 5/26/24-6/1/24 NO CLASS 6/2/24 -6/8/24 How to Paint Plum Trees Using Sumi-e Painting Techniques 6/9/24-6/15/24 How to Paint Chrysanthemums Using Sumi-e Painting Techniques

Those with anxiety have the option to turn off their cameras after attendance has been taken and use the chat box/reactions to participate. All directions are given in step by step format & the pace of the class is determined by the learner
