In this ongoing class, learners will practice skills learned in Logic of English Foundations Level A, B, or C. Logic of English is a phonics-based approach to reading that teaches a child phonograms and decoding rather than sight words. The purpose of this ongoing class will be to help learners to read using a phonics-based approach. Teaching will be done through review and games as outlined in Logic of English curriculum. The following skills are taught in Foundations A: *Show an awareness of how sounds are produced. *Blend and segment one-syllable words. *Read ALL the sounds of a-z. *Write lowercase letters in cursive or manuscript. *Read and spell consonant-vowel-consonant words. *Read and spell words with consonant blends. *Read 87 high-frequency words. *Read and comprehend phrases with short vowels and all lowercase letters.
