Through the use of education TEDEd videos and learner friendly articles, this class will focus on the practical application of note-taking using the Concept Mapping note-taking method. Learners will take notes alongside their teacher and peers. Following each note taking session, everyone will compare their notes to learn and ensure that the important information was captured. The class will be structured as follows (with room for more discussion as needed): Ten to fifteen-minute discussion...
Learners will:
learn and apply Concept Map note-taking style in real-time
gain confidence in their ability to take notes from a video or live lecture and scan readings for important key details
learn the visual use of Concept MappingTEDEd education videos will be used in this class. Articles from educational sites like Kids National Geographic, Time for Kids, and Kids Discover will be used in class. The videos and articles will be screen shared via the teacher's screen. No links will be clicked by learners, no external sites will be accessed, and no logins are needed.
