This class will use formulas to find the surface areas of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms, cylinders, and introduce the surface area of pyramids. Each of these concepts will have real world examples, as well. If there's extra time, we'll examine cones and spheres. I teach with a slide presentation to model the concepts, practice together with the learners, and provide several independent practice problems. Students will be able to determine the surface area of three dimensional prisms, cones, and cylinders using formulas for area.
