課堂經歷
Please note that although learners of any level are welcome in this camp, it is for "complete beginners" and we will be starting from scratch for brand new learners! Day 1: Notes on the First String We will introduce ourselves and show each other our guitars! We will discuss parts of the guitar, strategies to get the best sound from the guitar, how to hold the instrument, use of a pick, and the best hand positions to use while playing. Students will learn the basics of the treble clef, and how to read and play the notes E, F, and G. We will begin to practice the song "Spanish Theme" in the Hal Leonard Guitar method book. Day 2: "Spanish Theme" continued, guitar quiz and notes on the 2nd string Class will begin with an icebreaker guitar "quiz" about the parts of the guitar and fun facts about the instrument we learned on day 1. We will then review the song "Spanish Theme" from day 1. Students will have the opportunity to play the song for one another. We will move on to learn the notes on the 2nd string, B, C, and D and practice switching strings to play all 6 notes we've learned so far. Day 3: "Ode to Joy" We will begin class by playing a mini-scale using all the notes we have learned (B, C, D, E, F, and G). We will combine these notes to play the well known song "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven. We will then shift gears to learn the E minor chord along with a lesser known chord, D 6+9. Learners will listen to the song "A Horse with No Name" and practice the chords. Day 4: Review and Optional Performance For the last day of class, we will focus mostly on strumming chords and playing along with the fun song "A Horse With No Name." Time allowing, we will review the other two songs "Ode to Joy" and "Spanish Theme." Students will then be given the option to play one of the songs for the group, and/or share their favorite thing about the class. The teacher will give recommendations for next steps in learning guitar!
