The art of debate is fun and an important part of many classes in school and is an extra curricular activity. No matter if you are just wanting to improve debate skills, take part in speech and debate, preparing for student government speeches, and/or wishing to take part in Model UN, this course is for you. We will start with some lecture, readings, and video clips. Them the course will allow students to pick topics to research and write cases for and against these topics. We will then have...
Students in my debate class will learn the basics to debate, excellent research skills, develop outstanding writing skills for creating debate cases for and against, and the how to for presenting a debate.
If a student requests a sensitive topic we will discuss it and examine if it can be used with clear expectations. Sensitive topics will not be used, and I will work with students to pick a different topic of interest.
