夏令營：一年級作家工作坊

What will be taught?
*Opinion pieces in which students will introduce a topic or name a book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.
*Informative/explanatory texts in which students name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
*Narratives in which students recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.

In this class students will be exposed to 
*Opinion pieces, Informational/Explanatory writing and Narrative pieces.

What topics will you cover?
*We will cover Narrative, Informational, Opinion and How-To Writing.

How is your class structured?
*We will follow the We, Me, Two/Few, You structure and model for learning.

How will you teach?
*We will use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish our writing.
*We will participate research and writing projects (e.g., explore a number of "how-to" books on a given topic and use them to write a sequence of instructions).
*We will also recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a given question.

What's your teaching style?
*As a current school teacher, I am extremely hands-on. Our children need to be exposed to topics related in and outside of the classroom.

How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)?
*We will have class discussions together. Students will be able to talk with the teacher and their classmates as peer socialization aides in child development.
