夏令營：世界各地的名人和地標

SUMMER BREAK SESSION

NOTE: I will refund for weeks families are on vacation - please notify me by Sunday that fee is paid. 

Does your learner love art?  Does he or she love learning about difference people and places around the world?  If yes, this is a great combination class! 

In this summer social studies art class, learners will engage in arts and craft projects that teach them about people and landmarks around the world.  Students will watch a short video introducing the landmark and then will create a one-hour class project.  

Every two weeks students will walk away with a piece of art - including paintings, crafts, pastel images and sculptures.

SUMMER 2024 SCHEDULE: 

Week of June 16:  MOAI ON EASTER ISLAND IN CHILE

   — The Moai statues were carved by Polynesian between 1250 and 1500. They represent ancestors turned deity from long ago. They stand watch over the villages. 
   — Activity:  sculpt and paint Moai statues out of clay.

Week of June 23:  Continue:  Moai on Easter Island

Week of July 7:  Continue Helen Keller 

    -- Activity:  Louis Braille Alphabet Riddles

Week of July 14:  NO CLASS

Week of July 28:  ROMAN COLOSSEUM

     — Activity:  Video / Cookie/candy edible colosseum
