Welcome to my class!  In this FLEX class, your child will learn how to divide multisyllabic words into syllables in order to read them in isolation and in context.

 My goal for students in this course is to strengthen their reading muscles as they add tools to their toolbox to feel confident to attack multisyllabic words in isolation and in context.

This Syllabication Class is perfect for students who enjoy working at their own pace. This class will be perfect for students who are ready to figure out multisyllabic words!  Students as young as first graders are able to do this.  They will surprise you!  Students must have firm knowledge of their letter sounds and able to read short words. 

Students will have interactive games each week.  Students will be interacting with Teacher Holly each week as well as the other learners through fun, related games.


What to expect each week:

*Weekly Videos: Every Sunday, all of the weekly videos will be posted on our classroom page.

*Weekly multisyllabic words to practice syllabicating
*Weekly text to practice syllabication as well as to practice reading

*Weekly Interactive Games and Challenges
-Every week we will play an engaging interactive game.

*Class Weekly Goodbye Videos: After practicing syllabicating each week, students will record themselves showing off their syllabication skills and upload for Teacher Holly to see.  Teacher Holly will send praise and a specific, positive critique each week.

Hello! I'm Ms. Holly, a certified Elementary Education teacher with both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Elementary Education (K-6).

With 24 years of experience teaching 1st and 3rd grade, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students, including gifted learners, those in special education, and newcomers. Additionally, I have experience as a reading coach, where I supported teachers in enhancing literacy instruction. I am trained in both Orton-Gillingham (OG) and LETRS, equipping me with research-based strategies to support foundational reading skills and structured literacy.

I have over four years of online ESL teaching experience with VIPKid, where I taught nearly 6,000 classes and maintained a 5-star rating. I love connecting with students worldwide, building their confidence, and creating a positive mindset about learning English. My students ranged in age from 4 to 12 years old.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, watching my 10-year-old son play basketball, and spending time with my three cats and three dogs. I am a patient, expressive teacher with a big smile and would be honored to be part of your child’s English learning journey!
