每週 1-2 小時. Students will practice their note-taking journals with whatever work they are currently doing in school. If they don't have anything going on we will choose a topic to study so they can practice. Students should do at least 45 minutes of practice in between each class.

課堂經歷

This workshop is all about learning how to use journaling to make reading and listening to lectures much more helpful. We will be introducing a number of self-regulating strategies to make this happen.

This class is meant for any students who find taking notes difficult or who find that notes are not super helpful. The skills we will learn are all focused on self-regulated learning and they include journaling, meta-cognitive self-monitoring, prediction, and summarizing.

We will have class twice a week for 3 weeks as we work on these skills. The class flow will be as follows:


Class 1 - Introduction to the class
          1. Introduce myself and student introductions
          2. Introduce self-regulated learning and this class
          3. Introduce the first skill and assign homework

Class 2
         1. Check homework and review what we learned
         2. Introduce journaling
         3. Practice with some resources.

Class 3
         1. Check homework and review what we learned
         2. Introduce Meta-cognitive Self-Monitoring skills
         3. Practice with some resources.

Class 4
         1. Check homework and review what we learned.
         2. Introduce prediction skills
         3. Practice with some resources.

Class 5
         1. Check homework and review what we learned.
         2. Introduce summarizing skills
         3.  Practice with some resources.

Class 6
         1. Check homework and review what we learned.
         2. Review what we have learned in the class
         3. Say goodbye

I have spent considerable time teaching students how to improve their study habits and this is one of the best improvement strategies I've found.
