Set in the fictional town of Hawkins Illinois in the 1980s Stranger Things follows the adventures of three teenagers who encounter a mysterious girl with supernatural powers. The teens make it their mission to solve the case of the disappearance of their friend Will Byers.

In this class we will come together as fans of Stranger Things to discuss one episode of the hit Netflix series per week. All viewing should be done outside of class. This class will cover only the first season of Stranger Things. Future classes will cover the other seasons. 

Each student will be asked to share what they liked or didn’t like about each episode. I will then talk the class through a scene for scene retrospective as I break each episode down via guided discussion. This is the same approach I use for my other film studies classes on Outschool. A sample schedule has been listed below. This class will be offered throughout the year.
