故事時間 + 學齡前兒童有趣的活動 - 早期學習技能

In this class I will be starting off with a read aloud. We can then have a quick discussion about the story after. We will then move on to our print out activities which parents will need to provide for their child prior to class. These activities will be different each week but will generally include early reading and writing, early maths, and some simple arts and crafts/colouring. So please bring along pens or pencils, scissors and glue along to class. We will then finish off with a song, so if you have one bring along a musical instrument. If you don’t have one, a simple home made rattle will be fine. (If children cannot yet use scissors independently, please cut out any shapes or pictures before class, if needed). ESL and SEN children very welcome.

Block 1 (weeks 1-8) Week commencing 4th April 2024
•	Theme is homes. 'Dave's Cave', build a house cut and stick sheet, homes colour by numbers, houses counting up to 10, pencil control sheet, 'Animal Homes' song.
•	Theme is dinosaurs. 'Hide-a-Saurus', counting 1 more and 1 less sheet, size ordering, dino egg dot to dot, dinosaur find, colour and count sheet, 'Roar Like a Dinosaur' song.
•	Theme is dogs. 'Oh No, George!', draw a dog, dot to dot, letter D colouring, make a dog ear headband, 'Bingo the Dog' song.
•	Theme is tortoises. 'We Found a Hat', tortoise colouring and split pins, dot to dot, letter T sorting, turtle life cycle, 'I Had a Little Turtle' song.
•	Theme is tigers. 'Mr Tiger Goes Wild', pattern tracing, animal counting, tiger colouring, add more stripes to the tiger, 'Walking in the Jungle' song.
•	Theme is bears. 'Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?', adding animals, repeating patterns, colour by numbers, letter B, 'The Bear Went Over The Mountain' song.
•	Theme is caterpillars and butterflies. 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', number sequencing caterpillars, pattern sheet, butterfly life cycle, maze, 'Tickly Tiny Caterpillar' song.
•	Theme is being happy. 'Augustus and His Smile', what makes me happy sheet, letter T, tiger patterns, reasons to smile colouring, 'If You're Happy and You Know it' song. 

Block 2 (weeks 9-16) 
•	Theme is trees. 'Tree', 4 seasons, parts of a tree, leaf counting, number tracing, 'I Had a Little Nut Tree' song.
•	Theme is hats. 'I Want My Hat Back', design your own party hat, dress up paper dolls, dot to dot hat, tracing for letter H, 'Today I'm wearing Clothing' song.
•	Theme is monkeys. 'Little Monkey', draw a monkey, banana counting, abc dot to dot, letter M, '5 Little Monkeys Jumping On the Bed' song.
•	Theme is rabbits. 'When We're Together', bunny hop pencil practice, draw a rabbit, colour by numbers, dot to dot, Sleeping Bunnies (Hop Hop Hop)' song.
•	Theme is owls. 'Owl Babies', baby owl tracing, label an owl, make stick puppets, owl size matching, 'Five Little Owls' song.
•	Theme is the Sun. 'When the Sun Goes Home', sun mosaic, letter S I spy, rainbow colouring, missing numbers, 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On' song.
•	Theme is rhinos. 'Rhino's Horns', rhino colouring, circle the R sounds, draw something beginning with R, abc dot to dot, 'Rhinoceros' song.
•	Theme is frogs. 'Toad Has Talent', frog pencil control, 2D shape frog, life cycle colouring, number bonds to 5, 'Five Little Speckled Frogs' song.

Block 3 (weeks 17-24) 
•	Theme is toys. 'Lost in the Toy Museum', toy colour by numbers, teddy dot to dot, create a lego character, design an outfit for the teddy, 'Teddy Bear Teddy Bear Turn around' song.
•	Theme is sizes. 'So Big and So Small', teddy bear size matching, elephant size order, big and small colouring, stages of growth sequencing, 'Big and Small' song.
•	Theme is balloons. 'Arthur Wants a Balloon', balloon number match 1-10, balloon colour by numbers, pattern colouring, pencil control, 'Hot Air Balloon' song.
•	Theme is monsters. 'King of the Swamp', make a monster cutting and sticking, monster colour by numbers, monster feelings stick puppets, monster colour 2D shapes, 'Swamp Stomp' song.
•	Theme is donkeys. 'Where's Your Eee-Orrh?', donkey ears headband, letter D colouring, donkey mask, animals sounds phonics game, 'The Donkey Song'.
•	Theme is transport. 'We're Going Places', count and colour transport, sort the vehicles, pattern tracing, bike dot to dot, 'Transportation Song'.
•	Theme is fruits and vegetables. 'Meg's Veg', find the V sound and colour, vegetables colouring, where does fruit/veg grow?, what am I? (guessing game), 'Catch the Vegetables' song.
•	Theme is lions. 'Lion Practice', draw a lion, dot to dot lion, lion and mouse counting, letter L colouring, 'Roar Like a Lion' song.

Block 4 (weeks 25-32)
•	Theme is elephants. 'Elmer and the Wind', colour Elmer/Wilbur, elephant addition, Elmer maze, letter E colouring/writing, 'One Elephant Went Out to Play' song. 
•	Theme is fairies. 'Petal and Nettle', dress the fairy cut and stick, fairy stick puppets, fairy pattern tracing and colouring, colour a magic wand, 'Fairies in the Garden!' song.
•	Theme is cats. 'Six Dinner Sid', draw a cat, cat dot to dot, pencil control sheet, make your own dinner cut and stick, 'My Kitty Cat' song.
•	Theme is hens and chicks. 'Handa's Hen', pencil control sheet, life cycle of a hen, hen and chick colour by numbers, make a paper chick, 'Little Chicks' song.
•	Theme is farm animals. 'The Greedy Goat', I spy letter G, farm animals count to 10, fix the picture farm animals, number sequence puzzle, 'Old MacDonald' song.
•	Theme is polar bears. 'Love Matters Most', draw a polar bear, polar bear tracing, find count and colour, arctic animals block graph, 'Polar Bear' song. 
•	Theme is flowers. 'In Blossom', flower petal cutting, flowers colour by numbers, draw the right number of flower petals, shortest to tallest sequencing, 'Five Little Flowers' song.
•	Theme is fish. 'Something Fishy', fish tracing patterns, fish size ordering, find count and colour, fish number matching, 'One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Once I Caught a Fish Alive' song.
